Instructions
EZ OUT WRENCH 2000 SERIES (RED)
1. Remove victualic coupling from lid of backflow by loosening the two nuts on the coupling
2. Take the tool which is marked 2 ½"-4" or 6"-8" depending on what size unit you are working on. 2 ½"-4" fits 2 ½"-4" devices and the 6"-8" fits 6" and 8" SE devices. Put the tool which is shaped like a cage over the 1st check in the device. You can either install the ratchet wrench into the tool before you put it on the check or insert it after you have the tool in place over the check. The latter is sometimes easier. Be sure you preset the ratchet wrench as to the direction of turning CW or CCW.
3. Using the long handle turn the check out counter clockwise a couple of times until it is loose. Remove the tool and turn the rest of the way out by hand.
4. To remove the 2nd check take the long bar which comes with the tool kit and put it between the pins sticking out of the ckec and leverage it loose counter clockwise, then remove by hand. The cage part of the tool can also be used if needed. The plate side of the cage has notches, these notches fit over the pins. Place the plate side with the notches flat up against the check and again you use the bar between the pins of the tool and leverage it loose.
5. To reinstall the 2nd check must be installed before the 1st check. Check the O-ring on the check to make sure it is in place - put a little lube on the O-ring only. Spin the check in using the pins until hand tight. Take the tool either on the pins or use the cage and turn about ¼ turn past hand tight. Do not overtighten because you could flatten the O-ring causing it to leak by the O-ring.
6. Take the 1st check and check the O-ring to make sure it is in place and put lube on the O-ring only. Install the 1st check by hand turning check by hand turning it clockwise until hand tight. Take the cage tool and tighten until past hand tight, about a ¼ turn.
